Dear all,

As sad as I am to say, I will be closing ShadowFire permanently but it will continue to serve as a graphics resource archive in its current state. For the last few years, I increasingly felt there was little I had left to offer in the 'graphics site' trend. Nowadays, everything is so customized and focuses so much on personalized images that strongly identifies with each site's brand, it no longer makes sense to make web layouts that are only compatible with my own photoshoped images. However, that doesn't mean that I will be forgetting what webdesign has brought me -- from joy and excitement in designing and updating my website to meeting amazing affiliates and fellow graphics site owners.

I started this website -- my first website --10 years ago and it truly has been an amazing journey. Back then, I was just an 11 year old kid who didn't even know how to unzip a file and approached webdesign simply due to curiousity. It quickly went from a hobby to a passion, and before I knew it, I would find myself daydreaming in my fifth grade class about what type of layout I should design next.

It may sound like an exaggeration, but I honestly don't know what I would be doing today if I hadn't pursued my passion in webdesign. It led me to study graphic design in high school, and became the core influence on deciding which faculty from which university to enroll in, ultimately affecting my career path today. Last summer, I interned as a web and graphic designer and this year I will be moving out of the province for an internship on UX/UI and visual design. Right now, I'm still trying to figure out what type of design I want to focus on and I'm so glad I opened this door when I was 11. I'm still webdesigning but just not quite the same as I've been for this website... you just gotta adapt to the latest trend. As everybody in tech-related fields know, one normal year is like a million in technology years. :P

Before I head off, I want to thank all my past and present affiliates, siblings, visitors, and hosts, for your support and encouragment. It really has been amazing to meet and get to know you. I really need to give a shout out to my amazing host, Misaki, who helped me run ShadowFire for as long as I have and will be continuing to host it so I can keep it as an open archive. I will be keeping all my current affiliates and siblings' links in the footer below, so please do pay them a visit. As for those who want to see what I am up to, my art site, LightWater, is still open and I will continue to update it and paint digitally.

And that's all folks. It really has been an amazing decade.
